Move Well for Life
This philosophy guides all of our training. But what does “move well for life” mean?
We practice movements designed to reduce your pain and limitations so you can not only get back to the physical activities you love, but also navigate daily life with ease, comfort, and confidence
We practice movements that are safe, accessible, and fun! When you can exercise anywhere and know you’ll enjoy it, developing a habit of consistent, life-long movement becomes easy
Hey! My name is Jake Lamazor, and I’m a personal trainer specializing in primal movements and bodyweight exercises.
I’ve been passionate about movement my entire life. When I was just five years old, I would climb door moldings to the ceiling, and jump from couch to couch for hours until I was content. Even then, I innately understood that moving according to my body’s desires and needs could be a source of joy and energy.
In the many years since, I’ve spent thousands of hours refining my physicality and expanding my knowledge of the human body. But I’ve never lost sight of the truths I knew as a child: that movement should be a source of happiness.
Now, I‘m excited to share my hard-earned movement expertise, which will push your fitness to the next level—no matter your starting point.
I am NYC’s first GMB (Gold Medal Body) certified trainer. GMB is both an exercise modality and a philosophy of movement. When training in this method, you can expect to develop a greater degree of physical autonomy. This not only means moving through your day and all your tasks with less pain and limitation, but also increasing your body’s ability to do the things that matter to you.
I will use the tools of autoregulation and introspection to adjust the intensity of your workout. The amount of effort you put forth in any workout session will be determined by your energy levels, past or present injuries, and an overall sense of how you’re feeling on any given day. By learning to listen to your body, and adjusting accordingly, you will see far greater and longer-lasting progress than is possible with the usual “no pain, no gain” approach of mainstream fitness.
The GMB method relies almost entirely on body weight exercises, so you’ll be able to work out where you want, when you want.
